Safety-First Program

Your Haas machine was designed to run with the doors closed, with all guarding in place, and with safety features fully functioning – at all times.

Like safety glasses and other common-sense protocols, it is the only way to be sure you are in a safe working space, and that you’re protected from harm.

To protect the machine operator, and provide maximum safety, your Haas machine was designed to run with the doors closed, with protective guarding in position, and with safety features functioning – at all times. Haas machines feature mechanical and software safety provisions designed to ensure that the machine doors remain closed whenever a program is running.

Some people may attempt to defeat or override the safety lockout provisions. This is a dangerous practice, and should be avoided at all costs. The safety provisions in your Haas machine can only protect the operator if they are working properly.

If the safety features of your Haas machine(s) have been tampered with or are no longer operative, we would like to help you return the machine to its original factory configuration. In fact, we feel that safety is so important, that we will cover the cost of the initial machine safety inspection.

That’s right, there will be no charge to you for the initial inspection. If a Haas service technician is in your shop for a service call, he will perform a safety inspection at no charge. In addition, you can contact your local Haas Factory Outlet to set up an appointment for a Haas certified service technician to perform a no-charge review of your machine’s safety status, and explain what needs to be done to bring the machine’s safety features back to the original factory settings.

Electrical Testing Laboratory

All Haas CNC machine tools carry the ETL Listed mark, certifying that they conform to the NFPA 79 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery and the Canadian equivalent, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 73. The ETL Listed and cETL Listed marks are awarded to products that have successfully undergone testing by Intertek Testing Services, an alternative to Underwriters Laboratories.

Intertek Testing Services (ITS) is a laboratory accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Additionally, ITS is designated as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory by OSHA, and is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada as a Testing Organization and Certification Organization.

Products that comply with ITS program guidelines are qualified to bear the ETL Listed and cETL Listed marks.

  • ITS - Intertek Testing Services
  • ETL - Electrical Testing Laboratory (circa 1904), now ETL SEMKO, a division of Intertek Group.
  • NFPA - National Fire Protection Association
  • NFPA 79 - Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery
  • NIST - National Institute of Standards and Technology
  • NRTL - Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory.

CE Certification

Haas Automation, Inc., has completed the certification process that is required to affix the CE mark to our products. We declare, in sole responsibility, that all Haas Automation products, options and accessories comply with the regulations as outlined in the European Machinery Directive.

ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certified

Haas Automation has been assessed for conformance with the provisions set forth by ISO 9001:2015.

 

ISO 9001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements, and to demonstrate continuous improvement.

Scope of Registration: Design and Manufacture of CNC Machine Tools and Accessories.

This registration is granted subject to the organization maintaining compliance to the noted standard. The validity of this certificate is dependent upon ongoing surveillance audits.

ISO Certification


Being ISO 9001 certified means that an organization has met the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard and has been audited by an accredited certification body. The certification process typically involves:

  • Documentation Review: The organization’s QMS documentation is reviewed to ensure it meets the standard’s requirements.

  • On-site Audits: Auditors visit the organization to assess the implementation of the QMS in practice.

  • Continual Improvement: The organization must show evidence of ongoing improvement of their QMS and processes.

  • Certification: If the organization meets all requirements, it is awarded ISO 9001 certification.

  • Surveillance Audits: Periodic audits are conducted to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement.

ISO 9001 certification is beneficial because it helps organizations improve their processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
